Thinking of moving to the Treasure Coast to be close to the beaches and sunshine all the time? Great! But, what if you still have to worry about that commute to work? According to the US Census Bureau, more than 3 million people have fled to the sunshine and moved to Florida in the past 10 years. And a lot of people are utilizing the affordable real estate on the Treasure Coast.

If you are thinking of moving to this area, knowing the job market is important. The majority of the larger companies (500+ employees) are located in Port St. Lucie, making this an ideal area to live and work in. Here are five great neighborhoods in Treasure Coast for an easy commute:

Tradition

This newly developed neighborhood comes fully supplied with all sorts of amenities. This community consists of single-family homes, townhomes, villas, and condos. They call it, “America's unique master-planned community”. Just outside of your door, you can find shops, schools, and grocery stores.

Not only does living in this community limit the amount you have to leave to reach destinations, but it is in a great location for a work commute. This massive community jogs just East of I95, which is a highway that stretches from Miami, all the way up the coast of Florida.

Southbend

Southbend is another gem of Port St Lucie, being one of its older communities, but still holding all its charm and character. While the community itself is breathtaking, what really appeals is the location.

Southbend is located right next to the Florida Turnpike, which is a quick way to get across the state to the Orlando area. This town is located just south of Port St Lucie, making it easy for any workers to get to work quickly and efficiently.

Southbend backs up to the St. Lucie river giving residents a beautiful waterfront, and just on the other side of the town and across the causeway is where you can find white sand and the breathtaking Atlantic Ocean.

North River Shores

This community is a beautiful one, separated from the mainland by the flowing of St. Lucie River. This community is where you can get the feel of truly living on the water. Even though you may feel like you’re in your own oasis living in the shores, you still have great highway access to get to work.

Highway 1 passes right next to North Indian shores, making it easy for residents to hop on this road that goes up and down the coast. This highway goes right through Fort Pierce, which is the home of Tropicana products that has over 500 employees.

St. Lucie West

St. Lucie West is about as inland as you can get on the Treasure Coast, meaning you are still only about 40 minutes from the Atlantic Ocean. This community is right in the middle of I95 and the Florida Turnpike.

This community is home to numerous shopping centers and business parks, giving residents a plethora of employment options. St Lucie West is also home to Indian River State College, allowing residents employment and even education options.

Sports fan may recognize this town as the home of First Data Field, or the spring training home of the New York Mets!

Palm City

One of the more southern locations on the Treasure Coast, and one of the most popular. Palm city is the perfect suburban community with amenities for the whole family. There are many highly-rated public schools in the area.

The location right near the intersection of some major roads in the area is what catches some eyes; I95 and The Florida Turnpike. These highways nearby make it easy for residents to get to work, near and far.

The Treasure Coast is a constant destination for many reasons, but don't let a commute hold you back. Get to your dream location without a worry!
