Please plan for students and parents to attend together! Attend one training or all of the sessions! If you have any questions please email Jennifer at jpollack@fau.edu
August 5th, 2019: Plan!
In this session we will focus on person-center planning, closing the experience gap to help identify potential career pathways, independent living skills, Vocational Rehabilitation services, and college choice.
August 6th, 2019: Prepare!
In this session we will explore pre-collegiate opportunities, summer programs, opportunities for volunteering, how to gain employment experience, and developing a portfolio. We will have a presentation by a college support professional.
August 7th, 2019: Arrive!
In this session we will discuss the process of transitioning into the college environment. We will review housing options at various schools, safety, social opportunities, how to manage a crisis, and we will hear from a college student who will share their transition experience.
