We bring you a rundown of Miami Dolphins news from the last 24 hours. The Miami Dolphins have their new draft class and with the draft officially over, it’s time to start handing out grades to players who haven’t even taken the field yet. Through the draft, the Dolphins were able to add players at positions of need. They needed some edge rush help and drafted two players in Chop Robinson and Mohamed Kamara to help out in that department. The one need the team did not take care of was any position on the interior line. Fans and analyst believed guard was going to be a position the Dolphins would address but even with solid names on the board, the Dolphins passed over them for other positions. You can check out that story here, and the rest of the day’s round-up below. Katie Stratman-USA TODAY Sports Who should the Dolphins sign to fill out their roster? With the 2024 NFL Draft behind us, the Miami Dolphins are that much closer to filling out their roster for the 2024-2025 NFL season. The Dolphins had six selections in this year’s draft, and they were as follows: Round 1, Pick 21 - Chop Robinson, DE, Penn State Round 2, Pick 55- Patrick Paul, OT, Houston Round 4, Pick 120 - Jaylen Wright, RB, Tennessee Round 5, Pick 158 - Mohamed Kamara, DE, Colorado State Round 6, Pick 184 - Malik Washington, WR, Virginia Round 6, Pick 198 - Patrick McMorris, S, California Round 7, Pick 241 - Tahj Washington, WR, USC Going into the draft, the Dolphins badly needed OL, WR, and DL help. Suffice to say, the Dolphins filled those needs (at least, on paper). But with 130 days left until the opening kickoff of the 2024 NFL season, Miami’s roster is far from finalized. Though they have just $3.8 million in cap space left in 2024, there’s nothing a little cap manipulation can’t fix. With that being said, here’s four free agents still available that the Dolphins should sign to boost their roster, post the NFL Draft. 1. Dalton Risner, OG This time last year, Dalton Risner was in the exact same position he is today. A free agent, looking for a home in the NFL. He eventually signed a one-year, $3 million contract with the Minnesota Vikings in late September, and allowed zero sacks across 745 snaps. At 28, Risner may not be a household name, but with the departure of Robert Hunt in free agency, the Dolphins aren’t exactly in a position to sign one. What Miami needs is depth, and Risner provides that. We saw what happened to the team after injuries decimated the offensive line last season, and that can’t happen again. Though Spotrac puts Risner’s value at $10M per year, the Dolphins should be able to get him a much cheaper price, seeing as he went through free agency without signing a deal. Dalton Risner was AMPED pic.twitter.com/jQ10E3n28b— Nick Olson (@NickOlsonNFL) November 12, 2023 2. Connor Williams, Center Wait, Connor Williams? Like, our Connor Williams? Yep, that’s the one. The Dolphins parted ways with Williams this offseason, after an ACL injury in December left the 26-year-old sidelined for the season. You won’t find many NFL teams racing to sign an undersized center fresh off an an ACL injury, but Williams had a great season last year, and should be brought back to South Florida at the right cost. In 497 snaps last season with the Miami Dolphins, Williams earned an 86.5 grade from Pro Football Focus. At the right price, this makes sense for all parties. 3. Odell Beckham Jr, WR Ah, the one you were waiting for. The Dolphins have been in conversations with OBJ’s camp for weeks now, and have yet to strike an agreement. Though the team did draft two receivers in the draft, they did so with Pick 184 and Pick 241, which tells me they’re still in the market for a veteran wideout. Enter, OBJ, who caught 35 balls for 565 yards and three touchdowns with the Baltimore Ravens last season. The Dolphins are loaded with speed on the outside, but lack a “go up and get it” guy, and OBJ is exactly that. Spotrac puts his value at $9.9 million year, but the Dolphins would ideally like to sign him for less than that. 4. Tyler Boyd, WR The seven-year NFL veteran has spent his entire NFL career with the Cincinnati Bengals, but was an unfortunate cap casualty this past offseason. But as they say, one man’s trash is another man’s treasure. The 29-year-old is still hauling in about 70% of his targets every season, which is way above league average. Boyd’s raw production has dipped in recent years, but that’s in large part due to the emergence Ja’Marr Chase and Tee Higgins. If Miami can make this work, their offense just looks that much better. Valued $7.9 million per year, the Dolphins can make this work with some savvy cap manipulation.
