Event Details
This show is open to ALL youth in different age brackets (all ages up to 21). 4-H and FFA members who are preparing their animals for County or State Fair can utilize this show as a way to gain more experience in preparing, fitting and showing a hog. Those who have been on a wait list and are unable to show for the St. Lucie County Fair or any other county fair can show in this prospect show. This is a prospect jackpot show. It is not for market. If your wish is to sale your pig, you may register for the South Florida Fair that takes place 2 weeks after this show.
We are seeking sponsorship money from local businesses and individuals to cover the costs of the show, provide prizes for the exhibitors, and support Happy Hams 4-H program. Our show will charge an entry fee of $50 that will be used to pay the judge, cover show costs, and pay back out to exhibitors. This “payout” is based on their placing in class or by being selected Grand Champion or Reserve Champion in their division as well as sponsorship acquired.
The Swine Showdown in the Fort will have a highly qualified judge. One that is knowledgeable, can relate to kids, and can offer feedback to help our exhibitors with their projects. Our desire is to continuously improve our program in the state by providing the exhibitors more experience and knowledge with their projects.
