Description

The commonly used value for low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C) is not derived from direct measurement, but from an estimate. This estimate can be inaccurate, especially in the setting of low cholesterol and high triglycerides, leading to possible undertreatment of high-risk patients.
